It's an Independence Day holiday tradition - hot dogs, hamburgers, fireworks and the exhilarating thrill of NASCAR racing on the high banks of Daytona International Speedway.
'The World Center of Racing' will host the Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola Weekend on July 2-4 highlighted by the 51st annual Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race under the lights on Saturday night, July 4.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch will try to defend his Coke Zero 400 title and join Fireball Roberts, A.J. Foyt, Cale Yarborough, David Pearson and Tony Stewart as the sixth driver to notch back-to-back victories in the mid-summer classic.
Serving as a prelude to the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola on Saturday, July 4 will be the Brumos Porsche 250 Rolex Sports Car Series race, where the best road racers will tackle the twists and turns of the 3.56-mile road course in a sports car sprint race. The 71-lap, 250-mile race, held on a Saturday for the first time, will go green at 2 p.m.
Also part of the tripleheader of races scheduled on Independence Day weekend at DIS is the Daytona 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Friday, July 3 where race fans will see moonlighting NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer battle against the best of the Nationwide Series.
In addition to all the racing on the track, there will be plenty of activities off the track for race fans to check out. From top notch entertainment to driver appearances and autograph sessions, the excitement of Daytona International Speedway will be non-stop.
